Lies

"Lies. Steals it, eats it. Dr Stone will pay."

  • Dr. Stone is listed as one of the four founders of the Biodome Facility on a plaque in the lobby of the Biodome Facility.
  • He has a locker in Sector C (Anomalous Materials Labs.)
  • Mentioned in the Diary Log of Dr J. Welsh.
  • According to Dr. Welsh's diary log, Dr. Stone thinks Dr. Horn has been misappropriating funds from the lab budget to buy pizzas with, and fund some secret project they don't have the access levels to get at.
  • A clue as to Dr. Stone's field of work can be found on a whiteboard in one of the labs in Sector C, which seems to contain equations and diagrams related to the field of cryogenics.
  • On a whiteboard in the Biodome Facility, there is a message from Dr. Horn directed at Dr. Stone: "Anthony - Please stop stealing my Pizzas! — Dr Horn" (Dr. Stone's given name is Anthony.) A similar message can be found on a whiteboard in Xen: "PS. Leave my pizzas alone Dr Stone".
  • Dr. Horn seems to think that Dr. Stone is evil for stealing his pizzas.
  • According to a team roster on Xen whiteboard #6, Dr. Stone was assigned to "Team 2", along with Dr. Horn, Dr. Foreman, and Dr. Nielsen. However, Dr. Horn is listed as "MIA", and was apparently replaced with Dr. Young. "Team 2" was tasked with doing forward observation of "Site 8" (Gonarch's lair). According to a stage plan detailed on Xen whiteboard #6, his team (possibly along with "Team 3") was also tasked with establishing a new site base in sector 9, and observation of "Tower" and recovery of "SPEC 04-9C", aka. Gonarch. However, red writing on the team roster indicates that Dr. Stone and all the other team members went MIA.
  • A HEV suit with Dr. Stone's name tag has been found impaled on a spike in Gonarch's lair on Xen.
  • Dr. Stone was on his way with the first forward observation team to place the Cyanogen Chloride. The Cyanogen Chloride was a solution for neutralizing the Gonarch which had been developed and tested by Dr. Nielsen in the CES lab. It was intended to be used as a backup plan. Before Dr. Stone could place the cyanogen, however, he lost the cyanogen canister, and tried to escape using the longjump, only to impale himself on a thorn tendril. [1]
  • Dr. Stone was not assigned to the ABRF, but seconded to the Xen biolabs for this mission. Dr. Horn found it suspicious that a member of the Anomalous Materials laboratory should have temporarily joined the ABRF teams, just as the pizzas started to go missing. This is the source of why Dr. Horn's old rivalry with him starts. [2]

Real-life counterpart[]

  • Dr. Stone is the in-game alias for Anthony "OnboardError" Stone, a level designer on Black Mesa.
  • OnboardError had a (now defunct) personal website at www.onboarderror[.]com (which was hosted on the same server as www.thestormseeker[.]com). However, nothing ARG-related was ever found on the site.
  • A few posts OnboardError has made in the forum thread seem to indicate that he was involved in the placement of the hidden pizzas and Biodome Complex insignias in Black Mesa. [3] [4] [5]
